Adult Neurology Residency Curriculum
The SSM Health/Saint Louis University School of Medicine Neurology Residency Program provides exposure to numerous subspecialty rotations. The program uses a schedule with six-week blocks, which are divided into approximately four weeks of inpatient rotations and two weeks of outpatient rotations.

Research, Conferences and Workshops
Residents are encouraged to enroll in departmental research activities. Residents can design new research or join ongoing research. Residents must complete the Collaborative IRB Training Initiative (CITI) web-based educational courses in research and get certified before starting their research. This course is free for our residents. Research projects are shared with an attending physician who acts as the resident’s research mentor. At the end of the year, residents can share their research with members of the department and the University during the Department of Neurology research day and the GME Resident Poster Day. Residents may apply for GME research scholarship funding each year.
The department encourages attendance at national conferences. Each resident is allocated $500 yearly to spend on educational resources or register for national conferences or workshops. Residents whose abstracts are accepted at national meetings receive additional monetary support in addition to the yearly resident fund.

We offer a large variety of electives for residents to choose from, with most elective time in the PGY-3 and PGY-4 years. Residents may create their own or select from the list of pre-constructed electives below:
